James Morgan’s recent exhibition, China and a Gold Chair in the Middle of the Road, explored the process of change as seen in Melbourne’s Chinese sister city, Tianjin. Furthermore, Morgan’s images embody the stark contradictions that arise between industrial and traditional China; illustrating the story of Tianjin’s people and landscape as one of flux.
ThoughtAssembly had the pleasure of working with James to produce both the invitations and catalogue for the exhibition. The catalogue itself features a striking red cover with handsome yellow thread binding and was a particular pleasure to develop. The exhibition opening night saw a huge turnout and it was amazing to share the event with James.
